The Bonneville Environmental Foundation is a Portland nonprofit organization that helps off set carbon through funding projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions across the United States from sources such as animal waste, landfills, fossil fuel use or refrigerants.
Hamid is providing job training and leadership skills to youth in rural communities in Northern Ghana. In 2002, I met Hamid when he was 12 years old and worked with him on my first cross-cultural education project. We continued to work together for years running the Photo Exchangers project, connecting youth in Ghana and Boston through photography. He recently graduated and started a job training/education pilot project in his community.

Isaac is a friend/colleague who ran the Global Snapshots program in Tamale, Ghana. He's worked in education for 10 years and is starting a private school for youth in rural communities.

Taufiq and Karisma were students of the Salatiga Meets the World-Water Project in Indonesia. They recently graduated and are starting a language school, educating youth about environmental issues concerning their communities.
